Metro Networks Consulting, Inc. is the result of a group of IT professionals working with clients for the past 20 years. With our background in Telecommunications Infrastructure design, we have always been part of the planners and accustomed to the IT project lifecycle early on.
A Metro Networks Consulting, Inc. we specialize in assisting Owners and IT leadership and Operations in creating an independent non partisan IT budget for upcoming projects and/or building changes. Allowing our expert service into your organization may alleviate budget gaps or frivolous spending.
At Metro Networks Consulting, We started our journey in the IT technology space. Working in remote environments in the educational space during the early internet days, our services provided complete tech infrastructure for the educational market space. As no defined guidelines were available at the time, global leaders like IBM provided proprietary networks and associated compute environments that were installed as a complete solution. Through these experiences and the development of more open source and standardized practices our focus shifted to help design and build comprehensive networks that could adapt to a variety of technologies. Having a deep building design and infrastructure knowledge, the missing link always seemed to be IT. The disconnects between the building development and the IT folks that were experimenting with new and advanced technologies all the time it seems, provided a need to have a common voice representing both parties. Through the years, we have developed a set of processes and services that work along with all parties throughout a variety of project initiatives or stages of construction. The Metro Network difference is a high degree of Customer intimacy and representation. A tenacity to achieve the best results and deliver integrated projects in a smooth manner with a consistency that is repeatable and noticed throughout our delivery.
With the significant advances in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) over the last half century, there is an increasingly perceived vision that computing will one day be the 5th utility (after water, electricity, gas, and telephony). This computing utility, like all other four existing utilities, will provide the basic level of computing service that is considered essential to meet the everyday needs of the general community. To deliver this vision, a number of computing paradigms have been proposed, of which the latest one is known as Cloud computing.
We define Cloud computing and provide the architecture for creating Clouds with market-oriented resource allocation by leveraging technologies such as Virtual Machines (VMs). We also provide insights on market-based resource management strategies that encompass both customer-driven service management and computational risk management to sustain Service Level Agreement (SLA)-oriented resource allocation. In addition, we reveal our early thoughts on interconnecting Clouds for dynamically creating global Cloud exchanges and consumption based markets. Then, we present some representative Cloud platforms, especially those who have become the leaders in this space such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS). We recognize the difference between High Performance Computing (HPC) workload and Internet-based services workloads. The convergence of competing IT paradigms to deliver a 21st century vision has enormous change to the marketplace.
As Cloud Computing has become more accepted and almost the new normal, it is becoming ever more important to create a strong and redundant connection to it. Where in the past the Campus and its Buildings had a survivability aspect through private on-prem networks and compute Data Center, this now has moved into the cloud. The Campus and its Buildings are now completely reliant on the internet to be productive and avoid costly outages. Some Businesses have made compromises away from a total cloud model to have local survivability in place. Some Businesses have come to a realization that “Cloud no matter what the cost is” is also not a good driver. Some cloud compute loads (Heavy High Availability Storage or Heavy Compute) are not always the right answer in a Cloud model. Consumption models where heavy OPEX exists don’t always provide the best model for business where Capital Expenditure might be easier to obtain.
Edge Computing has become more popular in recent years. Manufacturing and Healthcare are good examples of Enterprises that need a survivability model including redundant networks and some level of edge compute.
Metro Networks Consulting, Inc. creates an ultra high speed connection at a reasonable price that could be deployed immediately and can be re-used in times of need.
Creating a budget and managing this budget through the design, construction and RFP process helped this School District's vision of a high tech campus to reality.
How this high availability and meshed Wireless design solution created a safe and customer friendly Hi-Tech campus that stood out from the competition.
